01 Aug Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts Buys Maurepas Foods Space in Bywater
Brothers Ammari also purchase Tommy’s Restaurant Group
The ever-expanding Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts empire has purchased the former Maurepas Foods space in the Bywater and the entire Tommy’s Restaurant Group in the Warehouse District, Todd Price reports.
Creole Cuisine—run by brothers Zeid, Marv & Richey Ammari—will add Tommy’s Cuisine, Tommy’s Wine Bar, Tomas Bistro, events space The Gallery and a forthcoming concept in the Bywater to its veritable Pokédex of holdings, which includes Broussard’s, Bombay Club, Kingfish, Cafe Maspero and more.
Since December 2015, Creole Cuisine has debuted Boulevard American Bistro (in Metairie’s former Houston’s location), Marché (in the former Galvez space at French Market), Big Easy Cafe (family-friendly dining and daqs in Metairie) and Creole House Restaurant & Oyster Bar (in a former Arby’s on Canal).
Ian McNulty reports that Tommy Andrade, who founded Tommy’s Cuisine after parting ways with Quarter icon Irene’s in the early aughts, will stay on to operate the restaurant along with current staff. The restaurants will remain largely unchanged.
As for the new concept heading to the Maurepas Foods space, Price reports that the brothers Ammari “plan to find a young chef.”
